12th May 2022 Windsurfing: Llanfairfechan Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: F6 Surf / Sea State: Chop Air Temperature: 15 Sea Temperature: 11.4 Weather: Sun then overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered: Didn't fancy getting battered on foil and no chance of learning a gybe so no reason to sacrifice a good windsurfing day to foil. Good blast about. Rigged board as thruster instead of usual quad so less draggy for B&J and was OK, a couple of knots slower than 78l single fin but easier if it lulls so selling 78l. 4.7m was max depowered and good though 4.2m would have been more comfortable. Wind swinging and mostly F6, with a couple of 30s lulls and quite a few F7 gusts. Landed on sandbank several time. Gybes went well. Good time. Rik and Roger on small wings and foiling well, though wind had eased as they came out, still nice 4.7m weather. |
